It is very important to know what your breakeven point is when launching a golf marketing campaign. Marketing campaigns are necessary to drive traffic to the golf property.

One of the numbers that most golf course owners are always looking at is the return on investment (ROI) but another key number to always be aware of is the break-even point. It is very important for you to keep your eye on what it takes to break-even.

Golf courses can be very successful even if they don’t make an immediate return on their investment because as long as they breakeven they are still getting a good return on their investment from the residual revenue that comes from almost any golf marketing campaign. I say, getting a return on your investment because you are getting name recognition, branding and all the benefits associated with image marketing.

When you are designing a golf marketing campaign, make sure you are aware of the breakeven point and whenever you are presenting it to your golf course owner, make sure that he or she understands that it’s only going to take “X” amount of sales to break-even.

After that point you will be into the profit margin and at the same time share with the golf course owners that as long as the promotion hits the break-even point you are still going to see a return on the investment through future sales.
